Okay, I'm on a roll or I can't sleep! I am fascinated with taxidermy eyes and the creations that can come of it. This piece is by Dauvit Alexander - the justified sinner - a pretty cool ring. I found this through a friend's blog.

Time to Get Back to My Life!

This is basically just a start to getting MY life back onto the surface of the planet. I mean, can you believe that last post was in October 2010? Ugh. There was always something.....My son Cameron graduated high school and has now entered college. Needless to say, it's a HUGE part of my life missing, though his is just getting started. So now it't time for me to get started.....again. I have been working with a friend who has a great interest in learning PMC and we've been just having a great time working, going to shows, and most of all, learning. Jo has been an instrument in helping me get my creative flow moving. Here is a recent piece I entered for a calendar submission. The photo is clearly lacking in "professional" look. So, I understand why it wasn't chosen. It's a sweet little box, all the same, but it's also just a rework of something already done. Time to get some new work on the table!

Winter Olympics in Maryland

A week after the last snow, at least we can have fun with it.

Not Another Snow Storm!

Now, I'm not one to complain about the weather. I'm always grateful for the rain. I mean, just think we could have droughty weather and wild fires, besides, rain is always needed somewhere.

Snow, I love the snow. I knew by the amount of pine cones and acorns that fell in our woods that this was not our typical year with just a couple inches of snow. I'm young at heart and can still enjoy it and always happy to root on another snow day for my son to be off school, but honestly, it's not like I live in New England or Canada. I can honestly say and ache enough (from shoveling) that I'm done with snow and ready for spring.

And with spring brings......renewal. A nature housecleaning. With all the snow we've had this year, we've have a massive amount of tree limbs that have snapped and trees that have fallen. So the clean up will be extensive this spring. Mother Nature's way of getting rid of the weak, I guess.

So here we go again.......

More Snow

Can't get out at the momemnt, but the snow is coming down again. The weekend's snow was about 30 inches. Today's snow adds another 20+ inches. It comes up to my hips! It's as high as the railing on the deck! I've never seen this much snow in such a short time. You would think we were living in New England......and they're calling for more at the beginning of the week! Yeah. I'll show some pictures when I can get out, hopefully tomorrow.

My "other boys" are wishing they could get out, but wow....30 inches of snow and more on the way. They are living in the house these days, which doesn't make them happy. No bird chasing today!!

My Heart From Liz Hall

I had a hard time choosing from Liz Hall's (of Lizard's Jewelry) beautiful work, but this is the one I got. She just became one of award winners in the Saul Bell Design Award, congratulations to her.... and all the winners, what a fun time you guys will have in Las Vegas. I had a great time, it's some awards dinner! Plus you're in Vegas.......

I've been trying my hand at bezel setting. I love the antique buttons. I love that you can add some more beauty with a nice bezel (Jen Kahn's technique). They are little bits of antique art.

As Proud As A Mother Can Be

I know this is not about jewelry, but as a part of my life, my son, Cameron, has made a mother proud. Cameron, who hasn't gotten to play football much in the past school season for Loyola, has just gotten his 15 minutes, and what a 15 minutes it was! He played well, made his team mates proud, his coach proud and especially Roderick and I. We're just beaming!!!
